Show b. i ii. n oeisiTi IN MOP GAME Removal of Stars by Proves Fatal; Provo Men i Excel at Effective Passing. Cca"h Gene Roberts's supposedly ' crippled crip-pled B. T. U. basketball team proved to be anything but crippled in the game last night against the University of Utah. On the contrary, it turned out to be the greatest team of passers which has appeared ap-peared in Salt Lake this season, and it took Utah into camp by a score of 38 to 2S. Neither Simmons nor Kaile rrere in the lineup last night, but they were not needed. Once the B. Y. U. got started, there was no stopping them, and they came from behind in a spurt which wiped out the ten-point lead which the Utah boys ran up in the early part of the game and added ten more tallies to this number. Just for full measure. In justice to the "C" boys, it must be said, though, that they had the best of the argument so long as their full regular lineup was in the game. Coach Tommy Pitzpatriek evidently thought that a ten-point ten-point lead was sufiiciently safe to allow ' him to run in some substitutes. Both Stevenson and Romney were taken out of the game. The Provo boys outpaced their op-ponnents op-ponnents throughout the contest and were much faster on the floor. It was only the remarkable guarding of Romney and Warner in the first half that prevented the visitors from running up a top-heavy eeore. When Komnev was relieved this combination was broken up and the B. Y. U. scored frequently. Dunn, the B. Y. U. center, was the high-point man for the B. Y. U., setting seven field baskets, bas-kets, but all except a couple of these were scored after Stevenson was taken out. . The game was watched by one of tne largest crowds which has attended an Intercollegiate game here this sesson, and thev witnessed one of the hardest- i fouaht contests of rears. Until three minutes min-utes before the end of the game the two teams were fighting neck to neck. Until the "C" supporters suddenly woke up to the fact that they were in danger of being be-ing beaten, they insisted In regarding the game as an easy rietory and they did little genuine cheering until almost the end. Hoop critics are of the opinion that the B. Y. U. will have a good chance to beat the Aegies when they meet them in - Provo. For this reason it is thought that the intercollegiate race in this state may Ettli nrove an interesting affair. The officiating of Malcolm Watson and Happy Holmstead met with general approval. ap-proval. Lineup and summary: B. Y. V. Fd.G. Fr.T. Fl.G. T.P.
