Show SECOND DRAFT CALL EXPECTED IN APRIL I ! Definite Date and Number of Men Have Not Been Determined. WASHINGTON". Feb. Zo "Wiile war department officials reiterate that no date has definitely been fixed for the calling of the second draft of the na; tional array, all available outward indications indi-cations would seem to point to some time during the month of April or at the latest early in May. ! Such, an estimate is based on the . known preparations for equipping and j housing the men. It is no military se- i cret that equipment and supplies for men of the second draft will become available soon after April 1 and careful care-ful observers look for the first increments incre-ments to be called soon afterward. The number of men to be called in the first increment has not yet been determined because the question of housing them has not been disposed of. There will be room for some of them in camps and cantonments now occupied bv troops and it is possible that additional addi-tional cantonments may have to be provided. pro-vided. It is also possible that some of the national guard camps may be used during the period. This phase of the subject is being given careful study, but nothing lias been decided. |
