SHALE DISTILLATION PLANT SITE PICKED Standard Company Begins "Work on Holdings Near Elko, Nev., Where Large Area Is Being Cleared. Preliminary work preparatory lo starting start-ing an active campaign of development on the holdings of the Standard Oil Shale company near Elko is under way, according ac-cording to an announcement made yesterday yester-day by President V. O. Kay. The site selected for the distillation plant is being cleaned off and the overburden Is being be-ing removed from a large area of sliale. Mr. Kay also announced that the campaign cam-paign for financing the company was moving along in a highly satisfactory-manner satisfactory-manner and predicted that everything would be in readiness for the installation of the plant by early spring.
