Show TWO GRANITE TEAMS BEAT MURRAY FIVES In a one-sided hoop battle the Murray Mur-ray yuint went down to defeat before the stronger Granite five yesterday. The score was 55-24. The game was played in the Granite gym. From the beginning Granite easilv had things their own way and played rings around their opponents. The Murray boys are considerably smaller smal-ler than the Granite squad and thus were placed at a disadvantage. The second string Granite five also easilv defeated their opponents w hen they won 'bv a score of 36 to 9. Both the visiting vis-iting teams were at a loss on account of tlie strange gvm, but put up a plucky i fight throughout. Regardless of the one-! one-! sided score, tho game was fast and the ! southerners had the ball a great deal of I the time, but failed to locate the backets. 1 The passing of the Murray players was I exceptionally clever and their team work good, considering the fact that they have i no coach to help them. Thus far this j season they have played two games, winning win-ning one and losing the other by a single sin-gle point. In their game with Jordan they defeated the latter 42 to 22 and held the fast Grantsville five down to a 26-27 scoro. These games were in tho 'old schedule and their game with Granite is their first league game In tho new-league. new-league. Coach Baird'fi men are showing up in I good style and have, a good chance to take a place In the division meet. Balrd has been putting his men through a se- lies of hard workouts lately and is developing de-veloping basket shooting.
