718 LIVES LOST ON . TWO VESSELS SUNK IN MEDITERRANEAN LONDON, Jan. 23. By the sinking of two steamers by the enemy in the Mediterranean Medit-erranean about three weeks ago, 71S lives were lost, it was announced here officially today. The Japanese admiralty announcement stated that the submarines were repulsed and that the ships were not damaged.
