George Lowe Abbott of Ogden, who was granted special permission to enlist in the Forty-second regiment at Kort Douglas, and whose case before local and district exemption boards has attracted at-tracted much attention, did not appear at army recruiting offices yesterday. Young Abbott lias until Tuesday before be-fore expiration of the five-day limit after the waiver was made. If he does not appear in that time he will have to do his own dealing with the war department, depart-ment, say army officers, and his case will then be up to the district exemption exemp-tion board on the proposition made by j 1. N. Parker of Eedmond, Utah, who , volunteers to pay $50 a month toward the support of the family of the youth I while he is with the national army. |
