Show I. W. W.'S HOLD UP TWO FARM HANDS One Killed on Each Side and One of the Innocent Victims Wounded. GLEXCOE, Minn,, Sept. 8. Two men were killed and one wounded in a fight fcioday when four men carrying Industrial . W orkers of the World cards attempted ! to hold up two farm hands who were riding on i freight train. The fight occurred oc-curred near this station, but nothing" was known of it until one of the farm hands, who gave his name as K. O. Nemic, notified noti-fied Sheriff Frank Klaus of McLeod county after having been wounded and thrown from the moving train by ihe men carrying I. AY. V. cards. Charles Dunham and an unidentified man, In whose pocket an I. AV. W. card was found, were killed in the fight, during dur-ing which more than twenty shots were exchanged. Alter the battle the bodies were hidden under some hay in a box car and were found by members of the train crew at Bird Island, a station west of here. Sheriff Klaus, when notified of the fight, caused the train to be stopped at Sumpter and arrested three men carrying carry-ing 1. W. YV. cards. |
