St. Paul, Minn., Feb. 2 (Indoor) Oscar Mathiesen skated one mile In 2:34 1-5, professional record. Eau Claire, Wis., March 4 Oscar Mathiesen Ma-thiesen of Christiania, Norway, bettered the world's record for the mile and one-half one-half by negotiating the distance in 4:13 3-5. Pittstmrg. Pa., March 7 At the indoor international championship ice skating races, Arthur Staff negotiated the half mile in 1 minute 13 seconds, and the mile in 2 minutes 2G 1-5 seconds. Troy. N. Y. Archie Kogers of Poughkeepsie Pough-keepsie won the annual 26-mile skating marathon at Cohoes, breaking all records from the twentieth mile. His time for 26 miles was 1 hour 25 minutes 22 seconds. Royers's fastest mile was the twenty-fourth, twenty-fourth, which lie covered in 2 minutes 52 seconds. |
