The report oL" the discovery was brought to Snlt Lake by officers aud directors of the com pain- when they returned from an inspection of the property made with a local mining engineer. The pnrpoe of the trip was to procure pro-cure a report on the property from a competent engineer and at the tame time have a programme of development outlined by an expert. The recent discovery was encountered encoun-tered in tbe face of a twenty-foot drift from the face of the incline-shaft through which development work is now being carried on. Samples of the ore brought back hy the party show apparent ap-parent good values in copper in silver, besides being well sprinkled with native copper, but assays to determine the cx- j act values hav,o not been completed. According- to report brought back by the. directors the incline, w;hieh has been driven on a fissure vein, has been in ore for the last 5U feet which has , enrichened steadily with depth. Assays of recent samples taken near the bottom bot-tom of tbe incline gave values ranging from .10 to 2U per cent copper. 10 to .16 ounces silver and traces of gold. It is believed that the latest ore encountered will yield higher values, especially in copper. Streaks of good shipping ove have been encountered along the incline and some has been taken out, but as yet no shipment has been made. The company com-pany plans to continue development work to prove up the ore body, taking out such shipping ore as may be necessary nec-essary in connection with the 'work, and expects to begin shipping before spring. |
