The army balloon mauned by Captain M(-Culloui.'h and eight sailor aviators, whii'h left San Antonio yesterday afternoon and lost its course, landed at Hidalgo, ivlexico, forty miles up the Ttio Grande river from Laredo, at 9 o'clock last night. The crew was taken in charge by Mexican Mex-ican soldiers, who notified the military authorities at Nuevo Laredo. Automobiles Automo-biles were sent to IlidHlgo and the Americans reached Nuevo Laredo today. Shortly after leaving San Antonio, the hallbou, at a height 0f 2000 feet, encountered a forty-five-mile wind and drifted rapidly southwest. The Rio Grande was mistaken for the Keuces river and a landing was made on Mexican Mexi-can soil. Arrangements have not yet been made to bring over the balloon. |
