MAJOR J. L. WIER Another member mem-ber of the army team's coaching staff and a grid player with a national reputation repu-tation Major' Wier is a former West Point lhienian and several years ago was the unanimous choice for a tackle position on the All-American team. He is regarded as an important factor in the army team's drive. He formerly coached " the Sherman Indians. HALFBACK MIDGET M'KAY Undoubtedly one of the greatest halfbacks half-backs that" over appeared on the Pacific Pa-cific coast. Dobie won, 13 to 7, but Sharp nearly upset his plans. Sharp weighs 138 pounds, but his dodging ability abil-ity makes him the hardest man ou the team to '"spill." He is a great open-field open-field runner. FULLBACK LANKY CRAIG The giant of the team, standing six feet four inches in his stocking feet. Craig weighs 1S1 pounds, but, despite his slender slen-der stature, looks good at full. "Lanky" played with the University of Wyoming for four years and was an all-star man. LIEUTENANT BILL RUSSELL Captain of tho army all-stars, this stocky lineman has proved himself a veritable stonewall on the defense. He is a Californian and played with the U. of C. team for two years. Russell weighs IS8 pounds and tackles everything every-thing coining his way. One of the few officer-regulars on the team. FULLBACK "MONTY" MONTEITH MON-TEITH Monteith alternates with Craig at full. He is a University of Oregon Ore-gon lad and the coming Tournament of Roses game will be his second appearance appear-ance in the anual New Year's classic. Last year he played halfback for Hutio Bezdek 's great Oregon machine that trimmed Pennsy 14 to 0 on New Year's day. He punted for the Oregon team. He starred with the Utah Aggies last year and was an all-Rocky all-Rocky mountain backfield man. BIG SAM COOK, TACKLE Cook holds down the tackle opposite Partlett. He is one of The best-known linemen on the coast. Playing with the Oreguu ''" team for two years, he was picked as an ali-eoast tackle. In his last year of scholastic work he shifted to the University of Montana and starred there, again winning an all-star berth, lie, is a bearcat at roaming defense and his 197 pounds of weight "busts era" in great shape.
