Show CORPORATIONS ARE WARNED ABOUT TAX Secretary of State Sends Out Circular Letter in Order to Avoid Loss of Charters by Companies. Tn order that the corporations of the state may be forewarned David Matt-son, Matt-son, secretarv ot state, - is sending out notice of that section of the state law which requires all corporations, both domestic, and foreign, to pay an annual state licence tax. the amount to be based on the authorized capital of the corporation as set forth in the law. This tax becomes due on November 15 and is payable to the secretary of Etate at his office. This tax becomes delinquent if not paid on or before noon of December l-i. A penalty of $10 will be added to the amount of the tax in case of default, and once incurred this penalty cannot for anv cause be abated. Unless both tax and penalty are paid on or before the fifteenth day of March following, the corporation will be advertised as delinquent. The cost of such advertising advertis-ing will then become a charge against the corporation. Unless payment of the tax, the penalty and tne advertising advertis-ing costs is made before the first Monday Mon-day of April following the corporation will forfeit its right to transact business busi-ness in this state and its charter will be revoked by proclamation of the governor gov-ernor of the state. |
