Show FAIRBANKS WILL RESUME SPEAKING CAMPAIGN IN WEST CHICAGO, Sept. 23. Announcement was made today at western Republican headquarters that Charles W. Fairbanks, Republican candidate for vice president, will resume his speaking campaign in I the west Tuesday, September 26, at Omaha, Neb. He will speak at "Denver, September 27; Pueblo, Colo., September 28, and Salt Lake, September 30. Before Be-fore returning he will visit California, Oregon, Washington, Montana and North Dakota. Senator Reed Smoot of ft ah, who is a 1 member of the Republican senatorial campaign committee, visited western I Republican headquarters today. He is- i sued a statement, in which he declared he had just returned from a trip through a number of eastern states and jwns convinced Hughes and Fairbanks' ' will carry New York by nn overwhelm- j I ing plurality. He also believes tho Republicans Re-publicans will control the United States senate. I Senator Smoot will leave tomorrow for a trip through Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Wyo-ming, Arizona and New Mexico, with a view of studying the senatorial situation in those states.
