The new plant, which is to take the place of I he old plant of the company now located on Pierpont street, will be htcatpf on two and one-half acres of frrnund on tlif southeast corner of the Intersection of Fifth West and Eighth Sou tli streets and will be reached by a spur track from Eighth South street connecting con-necting with what is known as "The Horn" from the Denver & Rio Grande railroad main line. The new plant will give the Gallgher Machinery company one or the most modern mod-ern and completely equipped machinery plants and warehouses in the west. I Plans Drawn Here. Plans for the plant were drawn by Viliadsen Brothers, Inc., architects and engineers of this city, and incorporate the most modern ideas in machine shop and warehouse construction. The machine shop proper, which will Include the, boiler shop, will be 30 feet in length by 60 feet in width. It Is provided pro-vided with what is known as a "clear story" over the center of the main building, build-ing, in which wiil he constructed the tracks for two traveling cranes equipped to handle the heaviest machinery with facility and dispatch. The buildings are to be of reinforced concrete and brick construction, and the architects, who will supervise construction construc-tion of the plant, expect to have it completed com-pleted and ready for use by the lirst of January next year. The machine and boiler shop will be located along the Fifth West street side of the property and the warehouse will be located In the southeast corner of the property. It will be I'OO reet in length by 60 feet in width and will lie equipped In a thoroughly modern manner. Will Cost $100,000. An office building will be ' located on the Eighth South street front of the property prop-erty a short distance ' from the machine shops proper. This building will be equipped to afford every modern facility for office work. The cost of the machine shops them-I them-I selves is estimated at about 530,000. while the cost of the warehouse and office building is estimated at about SUO.OOO. It is estimated that the machinery and equipment for the shops will cost $50,000. In designing the plant Villadsen Brothers, the architects, have made provision pro-vision for the comfort and convenience of the employees by providing space for ! washrooms, shower baths, lockers and ; the like. Provision has also been made for an emergency room to be used in case of accidents, and there is also space provided pro-vided that may be used as a lunch room by the employees of the plant. A modern heating plant is to be installed in-stalled in connection with the shops to thoroughly heat the entire place. The sifick of the heating plant will be about eighty feet in height. The new plant will give the Gallgher Machinery company the room for broader operations and for increased buisness In every I inp. |
