Show BINGHAM PROSPECTS TO BE CONSOLIDATED A deal is in progress by which the Hazel claims, 1 and 2,, adjolnmg the Montezuma mine on the north, and the Star claim next north are to be consolidated con-solidated and operated by a company, says the Bingham Bulletin. The Hazels are owned by W. J. Strlckley and partners and the Star by Ben Butler But-ler No. 3 Company. The latter offers a fine tunnel site for the group. It has a tunnel following a vein that has been run about sixty feet and In Hazel ground will have between 350 and 400 feet vertical depth on the Montezuma vein. This movement Is important, as surface sur-face indications tell of a good ore body under Montezuma ridge. The Hazels have their discovery In Markham and extend into Freeman gulch, where all operations will be conducted from the Star tunnel site. The pame publication says that at over GOO feet depth the middle tunnel of the Erie recently cut the Butler-Liberal Butler-Liberal bedded vein, for which it was driving, and a raise Is now being made on ore twelve to fifteen inches wide and carries lead, a good grade of iron and some red oxide of copper. The streak is increasing, and' vein matter indicates that a fine ore body is near. Cairns & Rooklldge, the leasers, are also working in ore in the lower tunnel, though it is not of as good grade. They are putting out about two carloads dally, and next week will have a good shipment ready for hauling to depot. |
