Burton of Kansas, who havo been preparing a bill of exceptions ex-ceptions to secure a rehearing of the case slnco Senator Burton was found guilty of receiving payment for use of his Influence in behalf of tho Rlalto Grain and Securities company of St. Louis beforo the Postoffico department, completed tho bill today and submitted It to the United States attorneys. Assistant District Attorney Norton!, to whom the bill was given, said the Government will In all probability havo completed Its examination of the document doc-ument by Tuesday at the latest. It will then be returned to tho defense, who will fllo It in the United StatCH District Dis-trict court, with tho motions for a new trial and arrest of Judgment If these motions are deniod sontenco will b prouounoed on Senator Burton. He will then b.e permitted to givo a new bond pending his appeal to the United States District Court of Appeals. |
