April 3.-Jim Jeffries and Jack Munroc, who arc to meet In a twenty-round battle for the. heavyweight championship in San Francisco tho latter part of May, will return to town today i preparatory to starting for tho - battle- ' ground. Tho champion and tho miner pugilist have been doing a theatrical stunt to corral a few dollars beforo they begin active training. Jeffries has Just completed com-pleted a two weeks' tour on tho road through Canada, while Munroe has been giving exhibitions at Albany. Jeffries Is not particularly Interested In stage life, and he says that he will b glad to got back Into harness. Within a few days he will start west, accompanied by hla trainers and manager, Billy De laney, and sparring partner, Joo Kennedy. It Is posslblo that arrangements will be mado so that tho champion will appear at Chicago and some of tho other largo cities. Ho has planned to reach tho coast the latter part of April, bo that he will havo about flvo weeks' training.
