Show TRYING TO HARNESS DUCHESNE RIVER Engineer Caleb Tanner of the local j headquarters of the Government reclamation recla-mation service Is on the way across tho Wasatch range with a pack outfit to take measurements of the headwaters of the Duchesno river for the use of the department In determining the feasibility feasi-bility of the Utah Arid Land commission's commis-sion's big Irrigation scheme. The estimate esti-mate of the commission is that 200 second-feet of water will be availablo for diversion to this watershed, and If It Is found that that amount can be obtained, with the flood waters to be conserved In addition, it is conceded that the expense necessary for bringing bring-ing it to these valleys will be justified. Mr. Tanner's present trip will be of great Importance, therefore, as tho first step In the matter of determining the practicability of the proposed great project. |
