Show MAN FROM KANSAS TALKS ABOUT OIL A. G. Btolper, who is mining extensively exten-sively in Dry canyon, In the Ofthlr district, dis-trict, is in the city from Locygne, Kan., where he has been spending the winter. Mr. Stolper Is Interested in the Eu-reka-Ophir, the Treasure and other producers pro-ducers of Dry canyon, and Is relurn-Ing relurn-Ing io the camp to take up his mining work with renewed enthusiasm. During Dur-ing his absence Mr. Stolper became quite fumlllar with some of the new oil fields of southeastern Kansas and he believes that the prospects for oil in this valley are very promising. "Hundreds of formers in the country about Iola, Chanute, Cherryvalc, Caney and Peru have become wealthy In the last feW months through the striking of oil on their farms," said Mr. Stolper, "and many of them aro removing to tho towns to live In style tho rest of their days. At Peru u veritable lake of oil has been encountered, and a number of gushers have been brought In. Ex-perts Ex-perts pronounce it one of the best and most reliable fields in the entire country coun-try The Standard Oil people have Just broken ground at Kansus City for a refinery, re-finery, which it is said will be larger than any they have yet built !n any field. Pipe lines from sixty to eighty miles In length will corineet the new fields with the refinery. The oil development de-velopment Is certainly making things bum In Kansas and I look to see a duplication du-plication of the exciting scenes right here in tho Salt Lake valley." |
