Show WOMAN SCARED CRAZY BY DRUNKARD'S THREATS Special to The Tribune. DULUTH, Minn., April 2. Mrs. Eel-ma Eel-ma Halonen of Tower, aged 21, was committed to the Insane hospital today. to-day. On February 18th, when she was holding hold-ing her four-day-old baby in her arms, a drunken man, an acquaintance of her husband, entered the house ami wildly declared he was going to burn the building build-ing and cut Mrs. Halonen and her baby to pieces. The woman went mad from that moment. Though every effort has since been made to restore her mental poise, she lives in constant fear of being killed or burned, and tho schemes she resorts to to protect her baby from imaginary perils are most affecting. She still lives In the shadow of that great seeming seem-ing danger when her reason fled. When the man made tho threat Mrs. Halonen sat up and screamed, and her fright sobered the drunken man, who sneaked off. Mr. Halonen wept bitterly bit-terly today when he and his wife wero parted here. |
