It Is known that Thlssel came In tho room where Meldrum and several others woro sitting and began to uso abusive language toward Meldrum. A moment later ho struck Meldrum In tho faco with hl8 fist. Meldrum drew his rovol-ver rovol-ver and fired at Thlssel, tho bullet entering en-tering tho latter's abdomen. He expired ex-pired In a few moments. Manager John Herron of the Tomboy mine, who is a member of troop A, and a detail of soldiers sol-diers were sent to tho scene of the tragedy to arrest Meldrum.
