Show MARCUfVTS NEPHEW VICTIM OF ASSASSIN JACKSON, Ky., April 2. James Johnson, a nephew of J. B. Morcum, who was assassinated a year ago, was shot and killed today by Bummer Splcer at the mouth of George creek, ten miles south of Jackson. Splcer was standing in a houseboat In the river and Johnson John-son on a sandbar, and the shot was fired apparently without provocation. Splcer Is a cousin of Sheriff Ed Callahan, Cal-lahan, a leader of the faction which Is charged with brlnglns about-Marcum'a death. Johnson Is a son of Mrs. Mary Johnson, John-son, sister of Mnrcum, who was an Important witness In the case against Curtis Jett and Thomas White, convicted con-victed of Marcum'iJ assassination. At last accounts Splcer had not been arrested. |
