LliflGlKSGlGQi The Bountiful Art League is making plans for their spring luncheon to be held at the newly remodeled Bountiful Art Center, 2175 South Main 'on Monday, May 7 at 12:30 p.m. THE GUEST lecturer for the luncheon will be Joan Woodbury of Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company. As co-director of the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company and professor profes-sor of modern dance at the University of Utah, she has proved to be choreographer, dancer, and teacher of exceptional excep-tional merit. She has taught and performed throughout the U.S., Canada, Germany and Portugal, and has also taught in South Africa and France. Her teaching and performing perform-ing style a combination of warmth, humor and abandon in space reflects the extensive exten-sive training she has had. Joan is also involved with dance on a national scene, acting as consultant for the National Endowment for the Arts, serving as a dance specialist for the Artist in the " Schools National Program and on the Dance Advisory Panel for the AIS Coordinator's Coordina-tor's Office. SHE HAS been most prolific in choreography, receiving numerous grants-from grants-from local and national sources. She has also been involved with a number of dance films, the most recent work called "No-Where Bird" produced in 1978. -- In addition to Joan Woodbury's Wood-bury's lecture there will be a classical guitar performance by her son, Todd Woodbury. He began study of the classical clas-sical guitar in Lisbon, Portugal. Por-tugal. IN 1975 he studied with Oscar Ghilea at the Aspen Musical Festival and in the fall of that year moved to California to study at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with George Sakellerion and Michael Borrimer. He studied in Spain in the summer of 1978 with Jose Luis Lopategui and has been teaching classical guitar in the music department and Division of Continuing Education at the University of Utah for the oast k.
