Show Bountiful Residents Form Yacht Club On March 23, the Bountiful Yacht Club was organized with six couples as original members. All are owners of cabin cruisers and have been long-time friends, and boaters. The group had dinner at the Pagoda in Salt Lake City and then held a meeting to elect officers. They chose colors and designed their own flag and have since had the flags made up ready to "fly." JOHN "JAKE" Jacobsen was appointed commodore for the first year with Frank Newman as yeomanpurser. The following are members: John and Evelyn Bendall, Cal and Janice Boynton, Herb and Irene Hoehne, John and Norma Nor-ma Jacobsen, Frank and Dixie Newman, and Howard and Betty Robison. The boats are equipped with CBs and marine radio telephones. The favorite boating spot is Lake Powell and they start out every year by boating for the first time the week preceding Easter. This year on April 10, 19 people were there for five days, including Dean and Lisa Boynton, Evan Bendall, Lynn Bendall, and Ben, Laurie and Andrea Leib. THE WEATHER started out windy and cool but improved each day until it was almost too beautiful to return home on Saturday. They have lots of good family fun and follow an important rule always wear a life jacket or belt when swimming. |
