Show ReNee and Ken Bangerter are happy to announce the birth of their baby girl. Isabella Erickson accompanied accom-panied Mr. and Mrs. William E. Erickson and Earlene to Las Vegas, where they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kim VanWagoner. They were privileged to hear Nola play her violin and found that she is very busy with her teaching and musical activities. Debbie and Dave Raber are happy over the arrival of their baby boy. The Rabers and their three children are living at 675 West 1295 North. Ralph and Cheryl Sherwood are also happy with their new arrival and Teresa and Bruce Talbot with their new baby. The John DeWaals Sr. are pleased with their new son, Tranmin-Ly, from Vietnam. He is thirteen years old and is attending Bountiful Jr. High School. He is working out on the track many mornings and is learning English. He is on the scholastic honor roll and on the citizenship honor roll also. His music teachers are pleased with his singing ability. Leslie Selleneit DeWaal celebrated her happy birthday birth-day this week. Some of the Second Ward members and others had a lot of fun canning pineapple this week, under the direction of Dorothy and Joe Kirton. Others enjoying the activity were Ralph McQuiston, Dan Mitchell, Kaye Mitchell, Dalene and Scott Dautel, and Peggy, Ron and Barbara Freestone. The Sunday School in the " 2nd Ward has a new face. Ron Black will serve as president, with Legrand DeWatl and Rex Maughan as counselors. Some fifty Laurels and their leaders of the Bountiful Utah West Stake attended the Laurel Seminar at Camp Zarahemla Friday night and Saturday. Some of the leaders were Beverly Haslam, Harriet Stephens, and Shirlene Maughan. Harold Drawe appeared in concert with the Jay Welch singers. Alt Cornia journeyed to Sandy Sunday afternoon to attend the welcome home services of his grandson, Mark Thaxton (son of Neta and Lamont). He came from Texas where the floods had measured as high as thirteen inches. Stan and Myreveldean Dangerfield enjoyed a visit from their son Grand and his wife Enola from Colorado, this weekend. The youth of the stake are looking forward to youth conference to be held July 12, 13 and 14th at Snow College. Mary Watts and Kaye Mitchell attended the funeral Saturday of Mary Eyring, a cousin of Mary. The services were held at the Deaf Ward in Salt Lake City. Speaking at the funeral were President Spencer W. Kimball and Dr. Henry Eyring. Also present were Elder Ezra Taft Benson, Pres. Nathan Tanner, Pres. Marion G. Romney, Mark E. Petersen from the general authorities. The Viewmont High School band took second in competition competi-tion at Logan last Saturday. The Primary and Jr. Sunday Sun-day School Sacrament program held Sunday night was outstanding. A trio composed com-posed of Loresa Johnson, Kristi Monson, and Kim Ward sang the song "Bishop's Plea." Recitations were given by Bobbie Baker, Thelma Jo Ray, Staci Williams, Brian Nicholson, April Derbidge, Max McQuiston, Kim Nan-gerter, Nan-gerter, Laura Garner, Jennifer Jen-nifer Lee, Kathy Lee, and Jonathan Foster. A readers theater was .presented by Leslie Beckett, Lisa King, Emily Peterson nd Ginger Watson. Class readings were presented and words given by a teacher, Clareen Synonds,: Jerry and Joel Kilpack represented a father and son and Vicki and Clint Broderick a mother and child. Choristers and accompanists were Cathy Baker, Linda. Droesbeke, Connie Ward, LaVonne Williams, Danna Mitchell and Jolene Stevens.- Youth from the 2nd, 3rd and 5th Wards presented their road shows the past week and should be congratulated for their fine performances. The roadshows from the 3rd and 5th Wards featured beauty 'contests and dreams and utilized all of the youth in their wards. Their costuming; and staging were great. The Second Ward received plaudits for their music, special effects, and for their adherence to church stan-' dards. Included in the staff and others participating were Mike Lee, John Lee, Tomm Lee, David Pfeiffer, Ray: Tullis and Kay Jessen, Cindy Maughan, Dianne Kilpack,' Suzanne Stevels, Tracy. Southwick, Mindy Salmon, Alan Martineau, Billy South-' wick, Jack Paget, Lee Mar-' tineau, Lane Jessen. Also Angela Watson, Lorna Jessen, Dixie Taft, Gina Mitchell, Patrice Mitchell, Shari McClean, Michelle Harris, David Southwick,-Chuck Southwick,-Chuck Evans, Danny Pullis and several more individuals. |
