Show Golden Years Center To Host Conference The Golden Years Center v,:il host the Governor's Mini Conference on Thursday, May 17 for the entire Davis County area. REGISTRATION WILL be 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., the conference starting at 9:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at 11:30-12:30 a.m. and the conference will adjourn at 4:30 p.m. Norma Matheson, First Lady of Utah will be the, keynote speaker. There Willi", be a number of issues and services discussed during the day. THIS IS a great opportunity for all senior citizens to help the Governor, the legislators and administrators work on issues which are important to the older people. Everyone is requested to get your lunch ticket ahead of time, the regular donation system will apply for this meal. PAUL SEIGER of Farmington Far-mington represented the senior citizens in the Olympics Olym-pics which were held in Salt Lake City on April 26. Mr. Seiger is congratulated in taking second place in the pool play-off. The Davis County Council on Aging is presenting a series of meetings on retirement re-tirement planning, the first to be held at the Heritage Center in Clearfield on May 10. Check at either center for additional information. The seminar is open to any age group to hear of this plan. Call the Golden Years Center for further information, in-formation, 295-3479. THE CIRCUIT Breaker property tax refund deadline has been extended again this year until Oct. 15. If your annual an-nual income is under $7,000 and you have not applied for a refund, there is yet time. You may be entitled to a refund for several other conditions, please check at the centers for help in filing this report, or phone for information. The annual Davis County summer picnic is scheduled for June 28 at Layton Common Com-mon Bowery, save the date to meet your county friends for lunch and a day of fun activities. activi-ties. THE LAGOON Opera House will again present summer theatre. Tickets are available at the centers for $6 to senior citizens. The productions are "Connecticut Yankee" on June 5th; "George M" on July 3rd and "Gigi" on July 31st. Contact your center for tickets. Check your new bulletins for the new program called "Elderhostel" which will be a new educational experience during the summer at the BYU or at Utah State Univer-' Univer-' sity. THE. LAMARR i Hart ' Chapter of China Painters has elected new officers for 1979-80. LaMarr Hart will serve again as president; Lucile Hunter, first vice president and Chloe Kotter, second vice president. Inez Anderson, recording secretary; Lilly Strayer, corresponding secretary; Kathryn Jennings, treasurer; Grace Strand, historian; Ida Hunt, special affairs and Madeline Marston, sunshine committee. THE CLUB will meet for a workshop at the Hart Studio at 2 p.m. on May 12. There will be a district workshop in Ogden for all China painters on July 16, more information at a later time.
