" -MbAv'' r' 1 ' ' ' r i Piano students from this area participated in the annual an-nual Students Achievement Program which is sponsored annually by the Utah Music ' Teachers Association. STUDENTS ARE critiqued by outstanding teachers from all over the state in perfor-' perfor-' mance, technical ability, theory comprehension, sight reading and musical appreciation. Approximately 216 students representing the following teachers were adjudicated: Carolee Eriksson, Elaine Music appreciation was also important, as students drew pictures of famous composers, or compiled other important items pertaining to music. Showing their items are, 1 to r, Hiesel Bone, Stephanie Bone, Jocelyn Nielson, Michelle Bone, Danielle Carr. Holbrook, Merla Little, Beverly Nelson, Ruth Yancey, Sarah Thomas, Janet Thompson, Thomp-son, Virginia Sheffield, Mar-gene Mar-gene Knowlton, Sue Parsons, Marion Rees, Dorothy Dautel and Zina Riches-. THE DAVIS County Music Teachers periodically sponsor various activities for these "unsung heroes" of the churches, schools and com-, munities. Small, all breve recitals are held monthly in the homes of various teachers of the organization. Two larger recitals are held Many piano students from the area recently participated in the achievement program. They took tests in theory, above, technical ability, etc. m at Christmas time and in the spring featuring some of the outstanding students of the teachers of the association. Recital chairman for the year has been Margene Knowlton. The annual spring recital will be held May 5 at the Bountiful Library. STUDENT achievement chairmen this year were Merla Little, Ruth Yance" and Zina Riches. Carolee Lriksson has served as program chairman with Elaine Holbrook as president of the chapter. |
