Show J THEY FLOORED EM If you like to sing in harmony, har-mony, get together with three Other people and begin practicing prac-ticing now to compete in the Barbershop Quartet contest at the Davis County Fair in August. THE COMPETITION is open to both men and women quartets who are 18 years old or over, according to Mrs. Maxine Smith, chairman of the contest. She said, "At least one member of each quartet must be a resident of Davis County and no mixed quartets can compete. Also, groups will be allowed to compete in one county'contest only." Mrs. Smith also said that two numbers will be required from each quartet-one ballad and one rhythm type number. 'The two numbers should total to-tal not less than four minutes or more than six minutes to perform, and no accompaniment accom-paniment will be allowed," she added. FIRST PLACE winners in both the men's and women's competition will be awarded $50, a trophy for each member of the winning quartet quar-tet and they will be eligible to compete in the 1979 Utah State Barbershop Quartet competition in September. This was the winning ladies' barbershop quartet at the 1978 Davis County Fair. Known as "Four or. the Floor they are Pat Daines, Cheryl Inglet, Cathi Nuttall and Janette Topham-and they're practicing up for this year's County Fair competition.
