Show Ual Verda Bountiful Chapter Sweet Adelines, took second in the region with 45 voices to the 110 voice chorus from Denver. Participating from Val Verda was chapter president, Jolerie Dixon, Gloria Paakanen, Dani Avalos and Sarah Moyes. The Ninth Ward MI A has had a busy month with a 13 mile trip into the wilderness with Bishop Clyde Pusey. They traveled on cross country skis from Brighton to Millcreek over the 9500 foot Wasatch Mountain range. Then, later in the montH, their "token" dance was a great success with Richard Gerlach and his disco sound providing the music and David Pearce winning the dance contest. AH cowhands from Chelsea Cove arrived in the Tenth Ward Cultural Hall which was filled with bales of hay, and they filled themselves with chicken, barbecued beans and apple pie ala mode at the ward western party. Prize for best costume western duds went to Jan Goates. Everyone felt at "home on the range" listening to the guitar playing of Dan Robinson and the banjo ban-jo picking of Keith Behunin. The dynamic blond Tingey sisters thoroughly entertained enter-tained with their harmonic songs. The evening was topped off with square dancing. danc-ing. Thanks to Cal and Diane Gibbs for their efforts in organizing or-ganizing the event. Ninth Ward Priests Quorum had a big score in ice fishing last month at Willard Bay. Stewart Taylor and Pat Shuldberg were successful in helping land 90 fish that were caught through the ice. |
