Show V t ' CHARLES RAY RICHENS Charles Richens interred in Vernal cemetery Charles Ray Richens, 67, died Feb. 10, 1981 in Roosevelt. He was born April 20, 1913 in Vernal to Oscar Ray and Pearl Beatrice Nielson Richens. He married Iona Annel Hatch Aug. 24, 1935 in Vernal. Later the marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, Sept. 15, 1954. She died Aug. 2, 1977. He married Beulah Burke Pitt April 25, 1978. He was a welder and farmer. He was also active in the LDS Church. Survivors are his wife of Roosevelt; children, Duane Richens of Richfield, Mrs. Ivan (Elaine) Hall, Charles Ray Richens, Jr., Calvin Richens, all of Vernal, Mrs. Jerry (Sarah) Kettle of Myton, Mrs. Michael (Nancy) Benson of Roosevelt; 22 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Claude Albert Richens of Lapoint; sister Violet Richardson Keever of Vernal; and six step-children, Leota Chappie of Lebanon, Mo., Homer Pitt of Corpus Christi, Texas, Steven Pitt of Phip-pipsberg, Phip-pipsberg, Mo., Judy Woolrey of Riverton, Wyo., and Mary Aberhansely of Wellington. Utah and Eva Kelly of Vernal. Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 13, 1981 in the Roosevelt LDS 4th Ward Chapel under the direction of Bishop Ormon Sullivan. Prelude and postlude music was by Susan Holmes, The family-, prayer at the mortuary was given by Calvin Richens, a son. The opening prayer was by Harry Tomlinson. a musical selection "Oh My Father" was by David Holmes and Leonard Ferguson, and Duane Richens, a son. spoke. An organ solo was rendered by Gwen Richens, "Somewhere My Love." JaTnes Lemon spoke and Ormon Sullivan gave some remarks. "These Hands" was rendered by Leonard Ferguson and David Holmes. Ralph Hatch gave the closing prayer. Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park. Dedication of the grave was by Charles Ray Richens. Jr., a son. Pallbearers were sons: Charles Ray Richens Jr.. Calvin Richens. sons-in-law, Jerry Kettle, Michael Benson and grandsons Charles Ron Richens, Keith Hall. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons Wayne Benson, Trent Richens, Hank Richens. Sylvon Hall. Bruce Kettle, Kenneth Richens, serving ser-ving an LDS mission; great grandsons. Jeremy Holmes, Andrew Holmes, Kenneth Merkley, Jesse Whiting; and friends, Mike Baum.
