Show Ute Tribe gets CETA allocation The Ute Indian Tribe, Fort Duchesne, has been allocated $417,789 for Indian and Native American programs under the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) during fiscal year 1981, according to the Department of Labor. The funds are part of $22.7 million six-state regional allocation to 27 tribes and other groups to provide jobs and training on reservations and in other urban and rural areas with large Indian and Native American populations. The majority of Indian participants in urban and rural areas and on reservations will be served under CETA Title III the Native American Employment and Training Program. They will be provided with a total package of services, including classroom and on-the-job training, work experience, job development and placement, and other supportive services. Young people 16 through 19 years old, who are unemployed and out of school, are the target group for the Youth Community Conservation and Improvement Im-provement Projects (YCCIP). The Youth Employment and Training Program (YETP) will assist youth, 14-21, 14-21, from economically disadvantaged families, in obtaining training and jobs. |
