Show STELLA FREESTONE Stella Freestone honored during Ashley service Stella Freestone, 60, died in the Uintah County Hospital Feb. 11, 1981. Mrs. Freestone was born Feb. 17, 1920 in Vernal to Benjamin and Birdie Ross Rooks Slaugh. She married Lewis C. Freestone, Jan. 20, 1938 in Craig, Colo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, Tem-ple, June 6, 1944. She was a homemaker and co-owner of MarElla Fashions. She was a member of Ashley Ward, former MIA, Sunday School, and Relief Society teacher and former co-chairman for the Democratic party. A son, Steven Louis Freestone, and two brothers, Gale and Evan, preceded her in death. Survivors are her husband of Vernal; two sons, Louis Ben Freestone and Chester G. Freestons both of Vernal, a daughter, Mrs. Terry (Debra Ann) Cox of Vernal; two foster children, Robert Bia of Provo and Mrs. Henry (Maryetta) Jackson of Arizona; eight grandchildren; parents of Vernal; brothers and sisters. Dan. Douglas, George, Mrs. Gorden (Olive) Hacking. Mrs. Preston (Ruth) Searle, Mrs. Don (Leah.) Morrell all of Vernal. Mrs. Asel (Jenus) Hall of Kaysville, Duane and Carman both of Salt Lake City, Morgan of Sunnyside, Wash., and Mrs. Parnell (Phillis) Sehon of Vernal. Funeral services were Feb. 14 in the Ashley Ward Chapel. Bishop Linford Batty officiated and Carmen Slaugh gave the family prayer. The invocation was by Weldon Bastian and Bishop "Batty gave some" remarks. Frank Johnson spoke. Dana Dee Smith and Blaine Pierce sang "Whispering Hope" accompanied by Laura Hacking. Garth Batty spoke Gwen Williams and Enid Cook performed a piano and organ melody, "Where's Heaven" Hyrum Slaugh gave the benediction. Prelude and postlude music was by Wilma Davison. Daughn Morrell dedicated the grave and burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Slaugh. Doug Slaugh, Carmen Slaugh. Duane Slaugh, Dan Slaugh 3nd Morgan Slaugh |
