Jaton studied under these two artists from 1971 through 1974. She took 40 classes of .4 sessions, 10 classes per season in . Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her first . class under Hahn and Wexler was drafting draf-ting and drawing; her second session was the instruction of oil painting and her last two sessions dealt with the intricate in-tricate art of portrait instruction. All of these sessions taught her French artistry ar-tistry techniques and secrets in working work-ing with pastels, charcoal, pen and ink, oils, and water colors. The famed Siegford Hahn and Howard Wexler are French artists. Both of these artists studied directly under Jacques Maroger. Maroger was a master artist of France who was in charge of the team of scientists who restored war torn paintings. Maroger invented a medium of paint used to reconstruct the old French paintings. This medium is called Maroger after its inventor. Rembrandt used this medium to paint his well known works. Maroger is a painting vehicle that has dual purpose. pur-pose. It preserves the painting as well as there is a strong visual definition added ad-ded to the oil painting when using this medium of paint. Jaton uses this medium which she has to cook to prepare; it is of a bees wax base. France does not release any books publishing their art secrets. The Maroger secret was smuggled out of France by Maroger's wife. Jaton states, "I felt very honored to take lessons from such masters as Hahn and Wexler. Both men are very humble men. I am in hopes Hahn will visit my studio upon special invitation as a guest of honor for a lecture to my students when the studio becomes organized." In addition to studying under Hahn and Wexler, Jaton, also studied under ..the famed Carl Cougor in Las Cruz, -v New. Mexico. She studied landscape and ' still life under Cougor in 1960.
