Show " 1 l 3 7 "v ' - ' 1 .''1 j ' - : " i ROYCE VINCNET MOWREY Vernal man dies at 80 Royce Vincent MowTey, 80, died at his home in Vernal, Feb. 14, 1981. He was born June 5, 1900 in Vernal to Uriah and Geneva Odekirk Mowrey. He married Thelma Julia Hatch July 2, 1920 in Vernal. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Odgen LDS Temple. Mr. Mowrey was a carpenter, charter member of the National Rifleman Association, a pioneer in river running, member of the Vernal First Ward, former teacher in Sunday School, priesthood and YMIA, and former member of the Woodsmen of the World. He loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by brothers and sister. Survivors are his wife of Vernal; four nieces and seven nephews. Funeral services were Feb. 17, 1981 in the Vernal First Ward Chapel. Orville Swain gave the family prayer at the mortuary and Bishop Charles Preece conducted the service. "How Great .Thou Art'' was sung by Dorothy Peltier and Daun White accompanied by Melba Eaton. David Condon gave the invocation in-vocation and Bishop Preece gave some remarks. Boyd Brinton spoke. "Whispering Hope," a violin solo, was by Lorna'Condon accompanied by Eva Hatch. Len Gotfredson spoke, and Dorothy Peltier and Daun White sang "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied by Melba Eaton. Orin Swain gave the benediction. Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park, and Royce Hatch dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were Tom Hatch, Barry Hatch, John Hatch. Michael Swain. Jeff Swain and Clay Delbaugh. |
