Show f r v t- ... . , I -' ' '; MABLE THERESA "TESSIE" PETERSON Tessie Calder diesinSLC Mable Theresa "Tessie" Peterson Calder, 76, of Vernal died Sunday. Feb. 15, 1981 at Utah Valley Hospital of heart failure. She was born in Salt Lake City Oct. 14, 1904 to August Alfred and Emily Ann ' Bezzant Peterson. She married Zelph Snedaker Calder Sept. 4, 1929. He died Sept. 6, 1975. , She was Salutatorian of her graduating class of West High School in Salt Lake City and served as the first stake Gleaner president of the Pioneer Stake and later as a member of the Mutual stake board. A talented pianist, she played for orchestras, instrumental and vocal groups. She was a capable stenographer and was employed by Continental Oil of Salt Lake City, U.S. Smelting and Mining Company, and the U.S. Department of- Agriculture, Extension Ex-tension service of Vernal, and as office manager of the Uintah School District. She was an active member and officer of several local civic and cultural clubs Beaux Arts, and Senior Current Topics and Lady Lions. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Richard A. (Allene) Hansen, Qrem, Mrs. Leon J. (Carole) Green, Bellevue, Wash., five grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Eugene B. Peterson, Oklahoma City, Okla., Edna McArdle, Salt Lake City, and Hazel Bigelow, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be Thursday. Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. at Vernal Third Ward. Friends may call at Thomson's Vernal,, Mortuary Wednesday evening between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. or one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Vernal City Cemetery. |
