Show Dinosaur visits in January increase 218 The mild, snow-free weather has resulted in the busiest January travel month on record at Dinosaur National Monument. According to Superintendent Joe L. Kennedy, the world-famous park was host to 7,206 visitors for the first month of the year a 218 percent increase over last year's figure of 2,730. The official park records show that 49 hardy visitors camped in Monument campgrounds over half of them at Echo Park which is normally blocked by deep snow drifts this time of year. Due to the changing and variable snow conditions, Superintendent Kennedy advises, all prospective back-country back-country travelers to check wth a park ranger before beginning any trips over the Harpers Corner road or the many miles of gravel roads that are not maintained or patrolled this time of year.
