Show Farmers Meeting In Salt Lake Friday & Saturday A definite clear cut farm plan is the purpose of the National Farmers Union meeting in Salt Lake City Friday and Saturday, Jan. 23 and 24. The meetings Friday will commence at 1 p.m. with W. B. Robbins. manager of the Utah Cooperative Association, as principal prin-cipal speaker. The major part of the meeting will be left open for discussion with the farmers from various parts of the state, giving .their views and ideas. Saturday morning's speaker will be C. E. Huff, general manager man-ager of the National Farmers' Union at Denver. He will assist farm leaders throughuot the state in working out a clear-cut plan and program to help them in their present problems. The farmers are . the only group of people who are selling wholesale and buying retail and as long as they buy and sell under these conditions, they will have to be subsidized bv the government or will have to leave their farms at intervals to seek other employment in order to save their farms, which are not ' self-supporting under present conditions. A large delegation from the Uintah Basin is expected to attend at-tend the meetings and help in bringing forth a successful plan. |
