Show Legion Reunion Planned By My ton Post The American Legion and Auxiliary, Wm. R. Sands Post and Unit No. 5, will hold a reunion re-union and special meeting at the Legion hall, Thursday evening, eve-ning, January 22. Blaine Bro-kaw, Bro-kaw, post adjutant, reports that invitations have been issued to all charter members of the Post and Unit, in hopes that they may be able to join the jolly group at the reunion. Department officers including Vice-Commander William Sut-teer, Sut-teer, Service Officer R. S. Hor-sley, Hor-sley, Adjutant J. Lloyd Wlgnall, Auxiliary Department officers and Mrs. Erma Sutteer, president presi-dent of District No. 9. are expected ex-pected to be in attendance. Calvin Cal-vin J. Monks, post commander, and Mrs. JoAnn Tolboe, unit president, will preside at the meetings. The presentation of awards for continuous membership will be a highlight of the session Two veterans of World War I, James Dalgleish, a past department depart-ment commander, and William Harris, a past commander of Post No. 5, will each receive an award for 35 years continuous contin-uous membership. Awards will be presented to several members mem-bers for 5 years continuous membership and the Auxiliary will also present awards to members with 20 years continuous contin-uous membership. A large crowd is expected to be in attendance for the special program and the jolly fun which will follow. A banquet will be served by the Auxiliary at the close of the meeting to all guests and members present. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Giles are enjoying a visit from their son, F. N. William Giles, who is home on leave from service in the U. S. Navy. "Bill" as he is familiarly called by his many friends, is stationed at Long Beach, Calif. He enlisted in June. 1952, and will have shore duty for two years before being be-ing assigned to naval duty on the high seas. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Thomas. Sr. returned last Tuesdav from a plane trip to Chicago and points in the Northwest, where they accompanied their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Thomas, Jr. Upon arriving in Salt Lake City thev rushed !o Logan to greet their new granddaughter.' Mrs. Thomas remained there to be with her daughter. Mrs. Farrell Purcell. while Mr. Thomas returned home to take over his duties as owner of the Myton hotel. Mrs. Johnny Barnes, who has been residing with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Garland Reed, was made happy, Wednesday evening when her husband, Pfc. Johnny Barnes, arrived here en-route en-route to Camp Carron. Colo., leaving Thursday. Mrs. Barnes accompanied her husband to Colorado, where he will receive his discharge, after serving six voars in the U. S. Army, part of which time he was in .Tami and Guam and other Pacific ; slants. The couple will make their home in Tooele. |
