Show feJi POST ( By Dale Ashby According to the post records, the largest attendance in the last two years was had at the last meeting of Basin Post No. 64, held January 15. Twenty-five members were present. Commander Com-mander Bill Murdock expressed his appreciation for the large attendance and asked that each member present try to bring in a non-active member. Legionnaire Dave Watkins would have won the $5.00 pot from the post drawing if he had been present at the last meeting, meet-ing, but the rules say the. member mem-ber must be present to win. Each week the post adds two dollars to the pot, but due to contributions by James Hall and Lynn Labrum, the drawing at the next meeting will be for $10.00. It was announced bv Calvin I Monks, commander of Myton Post No. 5, that they are having I initiation ceremonies on Thursday, Thurs-day, January 22, at 8:00 p.m. Special guests at the meeting will include William Sutteer. Ft. Duchesne, department first vice-commander; vice-commander; J. Lloyd - Wignall, Salt Lake City, department adjutant; ad-jutant; A. S. Horsley, Salt Lake City, department service officer; and Dale R. Ashby, Roosevelt, commander. District No. Nine. All Legionnaires in the district are invited. The youth committee of Po:-t 64, Roosevelt, has announced that final plans have been made for the opening of the Teen-Age Canteen, to be held at the Legion Leg-ion hall, Saturday. January 24, from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. The committee promises a pleasant evening, with refreshments, games and dancing, to the juke box, to all teen-agers who care to participate. |
