Show This Week's RECIPE . . . If you are giving a Valentine party, you will want to serve an appropriate dessert. Your guests will be delighted with Raspberry Swirl. Recipe submitted submit-ted bv Mrs. Darwood Campbell. RASPBERRY SWIRL (Serves 5 or 6) 25 to 30 vanilla wafers 3 tbs. melted butter 1 pkg. raspberry gelatin dessert des-sert V2 cup hot water Vi cup lemon juice V4 cup sugar 1 tall can Morning Milk (or 1 2-3 cups), well chilled Butter pie plate and line sides with 12 or more wafers. Crush remaining wafers, mix with butter but-ter and place on bottom of pan, saving some for topping. Dissolve gelatin dessert in hot water, add lemon juice and sugar, sug-ar, and .place in refrigerator until un-til . of whipping consistency. Then whip chilled canned milk and fold into gelatin mixture. Whip together until stiff peaks are formed. Pour into cookie crumb crust and top with remaining crumbs. Chill 4 hours or until firm. Serve with whipped cream, swirled in Valentine designs. (Frozen raspberries or strawberries straw-berries may be thawed and folded fold-ed into pie filling if desired). |
