Show Rain And Ice On Highway Caused Mail Truck Wreck A brisk rain, which turned to ice on the highway early Monday morning, complicated matters for school busses', mail trucks and the general public who tried to "go places" on the slippery highway before the sun and unseasonal warm weather melted the coating of ice. One mail truck slipped from the highway between here and Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, turned on its side and scrambled its contents. The driver received no injury. Some school busses were late in their scheduled arrival and motorists were busy putting on chains to enable them to climb the slight grades on the glazed highway. To date we have found no one who has seen a rain storm in the winter which 'did not turn to snow, so the unus1-ual unus1-ual weather we are now experiencing ex-periencing may set a record. Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Purcell announce the arrival of a babv daughter, born January 13th at Logan. Mrs. Purcell is a daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Thomas, Thom-as, Sr. Mr.' and Mrs. Bob Porritt and children, who have been residing resid-ing in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Mr. Porritt was employed, returned re-turned to Myton Thursday and will again make their home here. Emery Neilson, who was stricken with a sudden . illness last week, is steadily" improving, improv-ing, although still confined to his bed most of the time. Mr. and Mrs. Antone Uresk went to Salt Lake City last Friday Fri-day to get his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Uresk, Sr. Although Mr. Uresk Sr. recently underwent under-went surgery, he was so anxious an-xious to return home that they all returned to Myton that evening. eve-ning. Mr. Uresk is recovering nicely from his recent operation but will be confined to his home I for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Adams and son, Clifford, arrived last week from Fargo. Oklahoma. They are visiting their daughter and son-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ross, and greeting their many old friends Thev recently sold their property in Oklahoma and are now searching for a new location, where thev can retire and enjoy a nice climate. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lott and children and Mrs. Olga Solmon-son Solmon-son spent the weekend in Salt Lake City, visiting relatives and friends. 1 |
