Show 751 EXTRA CHRISTMAS j BOXES SUPPLIED BYOGDEN Ogden's unit of the American Red Cross has added new luster to its history. An accounting at 3 o'clock this afternoon after-noon showed that the additional apportionment ap-portionment of 500 soldiers' Christmas boxes not only have beon assembled but that by night 260 boxes beyond the assessed quota will have been received. The boxes will be forwarded to Denver, headquarters of the mountain moun-tain division, Wednesday morning. "This campaign began only last week and the response was enthusiastic enthusi-astic and gericrous," said Rev. John Edward Carver, president of the Ogden Og-den unit of the Red Cross. "During the last two days, the men have entered en-tered into tho spirit of the occasion and contributed numerous boxes. The women, however, have given the greater number and have done practically practi-cally all the work. 'The boxes are being be-ing prepared at local headquarters In the Berthana Hall building. It will be remembered that Ogden doubled its quota on tho, first assessment assess-ment and assembled 1000 Christmas boxes. On the second assessment the unit was asked to contribute an additional ad-ditional 500. instead, it is contributing an additional 750 boxes. oo |
