Show RAILROAD MEN ARE IN CUSTODY 01 A SERIOUS CHARGE William Pidcock, engineer, and James Empey, switchman, were released re-leased on bond today; P. P. Terry, a switchman, will be sent to Box Elder county, and Harry Gilbert, switchman, is In the Ogden city jail. That is a part of the results of an investigation being conducted by H. H. Cordon, Southern Pacific special agent, and J. L. Hobson, city detective, Into the bax car burglaries that have been occurring with considerable frequency in the local yards. Each of tho prisoners prison-ers is employed by tho Ogden Union Depot and Railway Company. Terry will be taken to Brigham City, county seat of Box Elder county, and charged with, third degree burglary, bur-glary, alleging that he took a quantity of whisky from a car In transit at Promontory Point last Sunday. The others are charged with conspiracy in the same alleged burglary by tampering tamper-ing with the car while in the Ogden yards. The offloers have not completed their investigations and more arrests in connection with othor offenses may follow within a short time. It is not believed the throe switchmon and the engineer arrested In connection with Sunday's Incident are associates of tho suspected band of box car robbers that have been infesting this section for the last sevoral months. oo . |
