A CUBE FOR HAY FEVER, Fin. K.cdles Mlieii with Smokies; Tobacco Tobac-co Clear Out tbe Head, A Freehold (Ji. J.) man, named Allen, who is an inveterate smoker and an annual an-nual sufferer from hay fever, which heretofore has compelled him to for-. for-. sake home, friends and business and hie himself to the mountains aa soon as he began to sneeze, as discovered what he claims is a sure cure, says the Philadelphia Phil-adelphia Eeeord. "It is an extremely simple remedy," he said, "and the credit of its discovery must be" given to the North Carolina mountaineers. Two years ego when I first hsgan to feel tha effects of the rose cold, I took a train for Ashevilie, N, C-, and found lodgement lodge-ment with an old cracker away back in the mountains. Before cold weather set in my supply of cigars ran out. I could not do without my smoke swd was obliged to full back on a 'cqd pipa and long green' tobacco rUei by. my host. I noticed that when he smoked he always mixed pine needlea with his tobacco, and when I asked the reason ha answered that 't was to 'cl'ar out his head,' . My head needed 'clarin' out,' and I tried the old fellow s remedy. It worked like a charm. When I came home I recommended it to my . frlsnds, and several who were suffering from ' catarrh declared that It helped them greatly. An enterprising tobacconist to whom I spoke about the 'cure' got a supply of pine needles and began the manufacture of cigars, cigarettes and smoking tobacco thus medicated. The flavor of tobacco thus dosed is very pleassnt, and the cdor of the smoke is deliciously aromatic. .ast summer I 9tayed at home and the hay fever didn't bother me. If I escape the complaint this year I shall feel pretty certain that the 'pine needle brand' of tobacco and I cigars la a sure enough cure." . |
