Show Redmen defeat Judge Bulldogs points for the Redmen in the contest. For the Redmen it was a great victory after a big loss. The ' , Redmen showed good defense, outstanding hustle and a willing desire to win in defeating the Bulldogs. Foley wound up the evening with 11 points and Judd was also in double figures with 10. Cedar High School Redmen, after suffering a tramatic loss at the hands of the Dixie Flyers to even up the series in Regionll bounced back Friday evening by defeating a tough team from Judge Memorial 64-62 in Salt Lake City. The Redmen, after trailing in the first quarter of play, jumped to a lead in the second period and never gave it up. Steve Hair paced the Redmen attack with 27 points before leaving the game with five minutes remaining. It was Hair who connected with a jumper from 10 feet out to knot the score at 17-all, after trailing 15-12 at the end of the first quarter, and Kim Neilson, drove in the middle to give the Redmen a 19-17 lead. The score was tied again at 21, 23 and 26, before Scott Burns hit from the foul line and Brent Foley connected from the field to give the Redmen a three point edge at the intermission. In the third period of play Hair connected for eight points,, including in-cluding one at the buzzer to give lead the Redmen to a six point advantage at 49-43. The Bulldogs of Judge Memorial came bouncing back with two buckets by Vernon and one by Brinie to knot the score at 49-all, but Brad Blackern and Hair connected again for the Redmen to give them a four point margin. They increased it to six with a steal and bucket by Judd with two minutes remaining, then held on for the final victory. Judd has six of the final eight |
