Show Third Redmen - Flyer Go -Around set for Friday It's even at one and one, and the tie braker is scheduled for Friday night when Cedar High School Redmen and the Dixie Flyers tangle at the Hurricane High School gymansium. Tipoff time is 8 p.m. The game will decide the Region 11 championship and a berth in the State Class 3A tournament. Here's what's at stake: - The Region 11 championship. - A berth in the State tournament with the winner to meet the fifth place team from Region 5, probably Judge Memorial in the opening round of that tournament on Tuesday, March 8. - The loser will be forced into a playoff with the seventh place team from Region -Six, probably Payson, for a tournament berth. It is likely that the game would be played at either Fillmore of Delta next week regardless of the outcome of Friday's contest. - The loser would have to defeat Payson for a tournament berth and the winner of the Region 11 and Payson game would be scheduled to meet the second place team from Region Five, either Granger or Murray in the opening round of the tournament, also scheduled for Tuesday, Mar. 9. So what will happen Friday night? The answer to that question will not be decided until about 10 p.m. Anything can happen when these two clubs meet and usually does. They both won on their home court during the regular, season. The Redmen early in the year by nine points. The Flyers just two weeks ago, and rather convincingly, wjon by 39 points. Both clubs are good - their records prove that. Either club could win despite the previous meetings. But regardless of who wins the likehood of both clubs making it to "State" is good. As for tickets, they are being sold on a first come, first served basis. Each school was given equal amounts of tickets for . advance sales and tickets will not be sold ' at the door at Hurricane provided all seats are sold. . Principal Jerry Hawley of Cedar indicates in-dicates that there still remains 200 tickets available at Cedar High School. They are in the student section, but will be sold to adults at $2 per ticket. They will remain on sale until all tickets are sold. |
