Show SU to host 1976 RMAC Wrestling . Championship Matches Feb. 28th a39 (4m I Southern Utah State will host the 1976 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Wrestling Championships Cham-pionships Saturday in War Memorial Fieldhouse. Three rounds are scheduled with first round matches getting underway at 10 a.m. Semi-finals and consolation matches will start at 2 p.m. The final rounds are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with the consolation finals and the championship finals at 7:15 p.m. Ticket prices are $2 for adults and$l for students (with student body card) per session. Six teams are entered, headed by defending champ- Adams State. Also entered are Western State, Colorado Mines, Mesa College, Ft. Lewis, and the host T-Birds. Adams comes into the tournament tour-nament the odds on favorite. The-Indians The-Indians are defending NAIA champs and currently ranked number one in the NAIA with a perfect 10-0 record.- Four returning champs lead ASC: Tom Cortez (118, 13-4), Henery Flores (126, 14-3), Craig Kelso (190, 14-3, also a national champ last year), and Rich Aggen (HWT, 12-8-1). 1 Three other Indians are probable place winners: John Flores (134, 9-4-1 Wim Wood (142, 11-4-1) and Tom Jean (167, 11-2-0). Western ' State returns defending champ and AU-American AU-American Harvey Dalton (142) along with Scott Johnson, who was runnerup at 190. The Mountaineers were ranked number seven earlier this season in NCAA Division II but have had their problems with injuries. They finished 5-8 on the dual season. Steve Linsacum (150) and Dave Hill(177) are other possible place winners for Western. Colorado School of Mines has defending champ Tim Marsh (158, 6-8-1), Dennis Gibson (134, 5-12-0) a runnerup last year, and Gary Weihs (142, 3-12-0) who placed third. Mines has been hit hard by injuries and attrition plus a formidable schedule to make the season a long one for the Orediggers. Mesa, the newest member of the RMAC, has possible placewinners in Allan Abeyta (118), Monte Griffith (142), Randy Le Blanc (150) and Malcolm Royce (158). The Mavericks have been a power in the Intermountain Athletic Conference. This is their first year of four-year competition. com-petition. Ft. Lewis returns Tony Petit (167-77) who won it last year but has been slowed by injuries so far this season. Dozell Yarbrough (134) placed second at 126 last season. Coach Joe Lopour's T-Birds will return three placewinners headed by Wayne Ritter (177), second at 167; Joe Taylor (134), .third; and John Marshall (118V fourth last year. Bob Sanders (150) and Chubo Sams (158) are other T-Birds who should place. Sanders is coming down from 158 while Sams is cutting down from 167. Sams won the Biola Invitational; In-vitational; Sanders placed second in his class. In the final dual of the season the T-Birds dropped a 36-12 decision to Northern Arizona to end 3-10-0 on the season. Marshall (126) got a fall, Sanders (158) and Sams (167) won with decisions for the T-. Bird's points.
