McDONOUGII and was the only one to serve the people in this type of work until after World War Two. He operated his sheet metal shop for 53 years. His work was always perfection as his motto was "if it's worth doing at all, it's worth doing well". Some of his excellent ex-cellent work can be seen on Cedar Main Street. He formed and made the block letters for Xhe signs on Mr. R's Store, An-tone's An-tone's Interiors and Messer's Upholstery. Mr. McDonough has two children, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. G.T. McDonough honored on 85th birthday A family dinner party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Blackner in honor' of Mr, G. T. McDonough who celebrated his 85th birthday on February 10. j The evening was spent with the children listening to their grandfather reminisce. He was sixteen years old before he ever saw an automobile and remembers the big day his father gave him a dime to go to the circus. Mr. McDonough was born in Van Alstyne, Texas February 10, 1891. He left Texas in 1909 and came to Cedar City where he married Annie Middleton on May 3, 1919. They were married by Brigham S. Young, Grandson of President Brigham Young. He served in World War One and was wounded twice during his service. , He built and operated the first sheet metal shop in Cedar City |
