Show Cedar College Stake Elder Brockbank Conference Visitor ' '"It, i m The Cedar City Utah College Stake conference on April 29 and 30 will feature a visit by Elder Bernard P. Brockbank, a member of the first quorum of the Seventy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Klder Brockbank was named to the First Quorum of the Seventy on October 1, 1976. He had been an assistant to the Council of the Twelve Apostles for 14 years. He was managing director of the Mormon Pavillions at the New York World's Fair, Hemisfair '68 in San Antonio, Texas and Expo '70 in Osaka, Japan. Currently he is serving as the area supervisor in the midwest east zone. A well known Salt Lake building contractor, Elder Brockbank has been a member of National Building Associations. He of his effort has been directed to service to youth. During his Cedar City visit Brockbank not only will speak at sessions of the Cedar City Utah College Stake conference, but will participate in a number of special activities which have been planned to be held at the time he will be available. Elder Brockbank will arrive in Cedar City on Friday, April 28, and will attend the SUSC building dedication meeting and the Appreciation Dinner mooting to honor retiring college President Royden C. Braithwaite. On Saturday, April 29, all high school senior seminary students from throughout the area are invited to meet at the LDS Institute building at 3 p.m. and hear Elder Brockbank speak to the subject "Insight into In stitute". Also planned as features during his busy agenda will be a regional "Young Adult" fireside on Sunday night at 8:30 where he will be the featured speaker. On Monday morning mor-ning he will meet with the LDSSA officers and the SUSC Executive council at a 7 a.m. breakfast meeting. Meetings to be scheduled relating directly to the college stake conference will include leadership meetings for specified leaders. A special Saturday evening meeting will be held at 7 p.m. for all adult members of the stake with emphasis on the conference theme "Member Activation. This meeting will be held at the LDS Institute of Religion building, as will the general conference session on Sunday. The general session will be held at 10 a.m. has served as an officer in several civic and education organizations. During his church service he has served as a teacher, a bishop, high councilor, stake president and mission president. Much |
