Show BY JOEYSASSO CONFIDENTIAL REPORT: Farrah Fawcett-Majors declared, "I need husband Lee more than ever" and angrily squelched rumors that her four-year marriage to 'The Six Million Dollar Man' Lee Major is on the rocks. The whispers of a breakup began after her dates with handsome Jeff Bridget. Farrah, 30, is unequivocal in her denials: "Jeff is a wonderful man but there is nothing between us except a good friendship." Twenty-seven-year-old Bridges met Farrah while they were in New York filming 'Somebody Killed Her Husband.' Lee Majors, 38, back in Hollywood filming for his popular TV series, was said to be furious about the split rumors. For her part, Farrah admits that she hasn't enjoyed being separated from Lee so long (It may be as long as four months before they can tear away from their respective careers long enough to see each other) but that their relationship is as strong as ever. "We wouldn't think of a day going by without talking to each other," said Farrah. "It's been that way for the nine years we've been together." . . . The taping of the final segment of 'All in the Family' (It was segment no. 189) involving Archie, Edith, Gloria and Meathead was a very emotional one. According to writer-producer Mort Lachman: "That scene of the chow required 100 rehearsals because the stars weren't in any shape to do it. Carroll O'Connor finally broke down and Rob Reiner had to leave." Archie and Edith will continue with 'All in the Family' but without the kids, who have gone to California where Mike has a job as an associate professor. INSIDE THE TUBE: Dozens of teen TV stars are in an uproar with their networks because they are being forced to date other network stars solely for publicity purposes. The networks try to match their stars, hoping to spark romance rumors, thus drawing attention to the stars' shows. Lance Kerwin, star of NBC's 'James at 16,' is one star who has fallen victim to the network. He was turning up at social functions not long ago with Melissa Sua Anderton, who plays Mary Ingalls on 'Little House on the Prairie,' another NBC show. More recently, he's been escorting 'Little House' co-star Melitsa Gilbert who plays Laura. Other stars who have been romantically linked, thanks to pre-arranged dates include: Shaun Castidy and Deb by Boone as well as Lawrence Hllton-Jacobt, Freddie Washington on 'Welcome Back, Kotter,' and Vernee Watton of 'Carter Country' (both ABC stars). Valerie Bertinelll, who plays Barbara Cooper on 'One Day at a Time,' refuses to give in to network pressures to date other network stars. "I don't believe in publicity stunts or publicity dates," Val relates. "I only go out with boys I like. I consider my work and my own life as two entirely separate things. V . ' |
